Vice President, Fast-Attack Submarine Programs

Jason Ward is vice president of Fast-Attack Submarine Programs for Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, located in Newport News, Virginia. He is responsible for program management of Virginia-Class submarine fabrication, assembly, testing and delivery, engineering overhauls of Los-Angeles-Class submarines, and all future submarine programs to include AUKUS.

Ward joined the company in 2014 as the deputy program director for an American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) commercial nuclear program. He has held numerous leadership positions in manufacturing, planning, construction, and program management to include Columbia-Class module construction.

Ward earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the College of William and Mary. He also holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
